The expiry date is a legally required indication and can sometimes be shorter than 2 months. What matters most is the actual condition of the truffles.
Check the following when you receive them:
- Appearance: fresh truffles are firm with a consistent colour.
- Smell: a strong sour or off smell is a bad sign. A mild earthy smell is normal.
