My seeds haven't germinated. What went wrong?

The most common causes:

  • Too much water: seeds need moisture, not a puddle. A damp paper towel or moist (not wet) soil is enough. Techniques like soaking in a glass of water can drown seeds.
  • Wrong temperature: aim for around 26 degrees C. Too cold and nothing happens, too warm and seeds die off.
  • Planted too deep: max 5mm into the soil. Deeper than that and the seedling can't break through.
  • Wrong medium: not all soil types work. Use a light, airy germination mix. Coco coir alone doesn't retain enough water.

Our recommended method: place seeds 5mm deep in moist soil, cover with plastic to keep humidity high, and store at 26 degrees C. No direct sunlight. Full instructions in our germination guide.

Seeds didn't pop after 7 days with the right conditions? Send us photos of your setup, the seed packaging, and your order number. We'll look into a replacement.
