Most of the time, this is caused by stress. Common triggers:
- Light leaks during the dark period
- Extreme temperature swings
- Heavy pruning, topping, or training at the wrong time
- Root damage from repotting
In rare cases, it's genetic. Some plants develop male parts as a self-preservation mechanism when no pollen is present.
